ELLIOTT POUCH (Video Tutorial)
This two-zip pouch is one of those projects that’s as practical as it is fun to sew. It’s generously sized, making it perfect as a roomy toiletry bag, a handy travel pouch, or a project bag for your next creative adventure.
Elliott Pouch pattern comes in three sizes, so you can choose the one that works best for your needs.
For me, the larger sizes are especially handy for knitting. I can fit a small project, yarn, needles, and a few extra notions without everything feeling crammed in. And the front zipper pocket is such a useful detail, it gives me an easy-to-reach spot for smaller things like stitch markers, scissors, a tape measure, or anything else I don’t want buried at the bottom of my bag.

The pattern also includes two different options for attaching a leather strap, giving you extra flexibility to customize the look and feel of your pouch.
For the straps, 1.5 - 2mm (3-5oz) veg tan leather is my absolute favorite. I love the simple, natural look of it, and it only gets better with age as the leather develops its own beautiful patina.
One of my favourite finishing details when making a pouch is adding rivets to attach the straps. I especially like being able to match the rivet finish to the zipper hardware, as those little details help everything feel intentional and coordinated.
